Accommodation in mainly twin and family rooms. Non-residents welcome on all courses. Self-catering hostel and cottages available. Five fully-resourced workrooms, library and wi-fi capability. Residents bar, lounge, TV room, shop and games room.

Over the last 60 years the Field Study Council has touched the hearts and minds of incividuals of all ages through fieldwork and courses at our network of Field Centres, work overseas and the production of publications and other educational resources. The Blencathra Centre has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality programmes, over 5000 visitors and 90% repeat business and is committed to helping people discover, explore, understand and be inspired by the natural world.

From M6 jct 40 turn left onto A66 for Keswick. After approximately 14 miles turn right at the first small signpost into Threlkeld village and follow the road, swinging left into the village past the 2 pubs and church and on a bad corner turn right up the narrow steep road and continue for a mile until you reach the centre.
From Windermere folow A591 through Grasmere and along Thirlmere. At the B5322 unction turn right towards Threlkeld. After about 4 miles turn right again onto A66 at a T-junction and in approximately 300yds turn left into the village of Threlkeld and continue as above.
